It’s so hard to chose, but we get asked this question all the time so it’s the perfect time to outline our Top Five Favorite Saint John Restaurants. This is in no particular order because these restaurants are all so good! These are our picks for more of a sit down, nice dinner out or a date night.
Zozo’s- An obvious choice; located at Caneel Bay with amazing ambiance, you really can’t go wrong here. Their customer service is amazing, the view is breathtaking and their food is to die for. Along with an extensive wine list they have great cocktails and we even love sitting at the bar here for a impulsive night out when we can’t get a reservation. Which is actually a good point, you definitely need reservations, any time of year.
Rhumblines- A bit of a different restaurant, Rhumblines is located behind bayside mini mart in Cruz Bay and you actually walk through the market to access the restaurant. Once inside it opens up into a really fantastic courtyard with swings at the bar and thatched roofing over the tables. A great spot for Sunday brunch, but we love it for dinner too. Their cocktail menu has recently been re-done and their menu offers a little bit of everything with an asian flare. Our favorites are the tempura fried lobster for apps and then its a total toss up. Pad Thai is amazing, tuna is fantastic, Salmon is wonderful, and the Scallops are to die for if you like spice.
The Lime Inn- One of our go-to spots; The Lime Inn has been a St. John favorite for years! We love their new menu, amazing cocktails (try The Danger,) and to die for scallop appetizer. This favorite Saint John Restaurant features all you can eat shrimp night, not to mention all their other amazing entrees. The Lime Inn can be great for a casual night or perfect for a quiet date night with delicious food.
Extra Virgin Bistro- Another new restaurant on island and entering their second year Extra Virgin Bistro has quickly become a local favorite. Located up the road from Woody’s and across from the school ball field before you get to the round about, this restaurant is absolutely worth the short walk. With an amazing wine list and the best short rib I’ve ever had, you have to try this restaurant at least once.
The Terrace- Now the reason I put The Terrace on here isn’t for a sit down dinner (although their food is incredible and I highly recommend it for dinner,) it’s actually for their happy hour! Not something you normally expect from a high end restaurant, The Terrace has an Oyster Happy Hour that’s a perfect compliment to a day with the girls or even the beginning of a date night. from 4:30-6:30 you can get Fresh oysters and Oysters Rockefeller as well as wine specials and other small items perfect for sharing!
