In May we had a slow weekend and took the opportunity to explore the North Sound of Virgin Gorda a little bit. We’ve both been up there a ton of times on charters, but never while we weren’t working, which is quite a bit different. We stayed at Saba Rock, which was amazing, peaceful and so relaxing.
We started the day by docking at Leverick Bay and taking a taxi up to Hog Heaven, an incredibly good barbecue spot with a panoramic view of the entire north sound. It was a really clear day so we could see all the way to Anegada. They also happen to have arguably the best Conch Stew ever, and ice cold beers, which always makes for a great lunch stop.
Afterwards, we headed over to Saba Rock, docked the boat, and got checked in just in time for happy hour. We chose to stay at Saba for a nice dinner and then took their free shuttle over to The Bitter End for breakfast the next morning. What a great decision! The Bitter End has a full breakfast spread including self serve mimosas and made to order omelettes. They even let us relax at their pool if we ate lunch there. As we headed back to Saint John, I couldn’t help but try to convince Joe that we could (and should) stay for just one more night…..
